| Alireza Mahdipour was born in Tabriz, Iran in 1962. He got his BA In English language and Literature from Tabriz University in 1991, his MA in English Literature from Tehran University in 1996, and his Ph.D in English Literature from Isfahan University in 2020. Beside teaching in Urmia University he writes short stories, translates classical English poetry, and Shakespeare&rsquos plays. His translation of Chaucer's Canterbury Tales into Persian verse form is published in Iran, plus several of Shakespearean plays and a novel of Shirley Jackson, and many short story translations in national magazines. Also, he has published the books Reading between the Paragraphs, (VDM Verlag, 2009), on teaching how to read short stories, and a collection of short stories: Waking Nightmares: Stories from Iran (AuthorHouse, 2009). |
