PROFILE:

A dedicated researcher and educator with a Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from K.N. Toosi University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, and over a decade of experience as an Associate Professor at Urmia University. My academic and professional journey is focused on advancing sustainable environmental solutions through interdisciplinary research, innovative modeling, and practical engineering approaches.

During my doctoral studies, I developed a software-based model to help waste management authorities make informed decisions when selecting feasible management scenarios for specific regions. This model utilized Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodology to assess environmental impacts over defined time horizons. By integrating environmental data, economic evaluations, and expert opinions, I created an Analytical Network Process (ANP)-based framework to prioritize scenarios and conduct sensitivity analyses, providing a robust tool for strategic planning in waste management.

Recognizing challenges in high-strength wastewater treatment, particularly landfill leachate, I studied both conventional and advanced chemical treatment methods. Using Response Surface Methodology (RSM), I optimized treatment factors and developed a predictive model for Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) reduction.

In recent years, my focus has expanded to addressing spatial and temporal gaps in air pollution data from ground monitoring stations. Leveraging remote sensing technologies and machine learning algorithms, I developed models to estimate ground-level pollutant concentrations using satellite imagery, enhancing air quality monitoring.

I bring practical experience and technical expertise in the following areas:

Development of decision-making models for urban waste management using LCA and ANP methodologies.

Environmental impact assessments of infrastructure and industrial projects.

Creation of Multi-Attribute Decision-Making (MADM)-based models for water resource management.

Design and implementation of multi-chamber thermal treatment systems under vacuum conditions.

Treatment of landfill leachate using advanced chemical methods, including Fenton and photo-Fenton processes.

Application of machine learning algorithms and satellite data for ground-level air pollutant estimation.

Air pollution modeling, mitigation, and control strategies.

Hydrological studies and water resource management.
