*Hossein Kheirfam currently works at the Urmia Lake Research Institute, Department of Environmental Science, Urmia University. Hossein does research in 1) Soil and Water Conservation by Microbial Inoculation-techniques, 2) Impact of Bacteria and Cyanobacteria Inoculation on Soil Properties, 3) Stabilization of (Water and Wind) Erosion-prone Soils by Biotechniques, 4) Bio-improving of Agro-ecosystems Soil Quality and Quantity. **Hossein has recently focused on stabilizing soil and salt particles in the dried-out area of Iran's salty Lake Urmia by inoculation of bacteria and cyanobacteria, and other bio-based techniques. ***Lake Urmia, one of the largest saltwater lakes in the world and located in Northwest of Iran, has dried-out dramatically (more than 90%). The salts have been exposed to wind erosion in the dried lake area.
